Dr. Kristen Schuyten, PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS
Dr. Kristen Schuyten is a board-certified sports physical therapist and certified strength and conditioning specialist with a career devoted to keeping performing artists healthy, resilient, and stage-ready. With over 15 years of clinical and educational experience, she has developed specialized injury prevention and recovery protocols for dancers, gymnasts, figure skaters, and musicians — from pointe readiness screenings to post-concussion return-to-performance programs. Kristen has served as a trusted educator for the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance, an award-winning staff trainer, and a valued member of the U.S. Figure Skating Team USA medical team at Olympic and World Championship events.
A passionate educator and international presenter, Kristen blends cutting-edge research with practical, performer-friendly strategies. Whether she’s teaching anatomy to dance majors, speaking at global conferences, or providing backstage care at elite competitions, her mission is the same: to help performers stay healthy, recover fully, and thrive in their art.

Dr. Veronica Prieur, PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS, NCPT
Dr. Veronica Prieur is a performing arts and sports physical therapist in the Detroit area. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Wayne State University in December 2022, where she was actively involved in research as a student, including collaborative work between the physical therapy and dance departments. Her research contributions have resulted in publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Veronica completed the Detroit Medical Center Sports Physical Therapy Residency Program, an ABPTRFE-accredited postdoctoral residency, in December 2024. During her residency, she gained advanced training in professional sports medicine, including experience in professional training room and sideline coverage. Upon completion, she qualified for and achieved board certification as a Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS).
In addition to her clinical practice, Veronica is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT), with over a decade of experience teaching Pilates. She has trained professional athletes and brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to performance and rehabilitation. Her background also includes extensive experience as a dance instructor, specializing in technique and conditioning for dancers.
Veronica regularly presents at state, national, and international conferences on topics related to performing arts medicine, injury risk, and health considerations in athletic populations. Her professional interests center on integrating evidence-based sports medicine, strength and conditioning, and movement science to optimize performance and reduce injury risk across athletic and performing arts populations.
